Aged 92, of 407 So. 3rd St., Bellwood, retired railroad employee and lumberman, died at his home at 8 o'clock Saturday morning after having been ill since last July.
He was born Feb. 13, 1859, at Port Matilda, a son of Russell and Rebecca (McGrady) Price, but had been a resident of Bellwood for the past 70 years. He first entered the service of the railroad Oct. 29, 1888, working in the Bellwood roundhouse as head hostler until retirement in 1924.
His first wife, Mary Tyler, whom he married in 1882, died of burns in 1902, and his second wife, Annie (Collier) Stellinger, whom he married in 1906, died July 19, 1951.
Surviving are the following children, born to the first marriage: Mrs. Tressie Bowers of Pinecroft; Mrs. Edgar Gray of Juniata; Miss Ethel of Franklin, Dorothy of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Alice Swanner of Bellwood; a foster son, Capt. C.W. Stellinger of New York; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Leona Walk of Port Matilda, Willis Price of Dix and Mrs. Lilly Bathurst of Altoona, also survive.
Mr. Price was a member of the Bellwood Pentacostal Church.
Friends are being received at the Fuoss Mortuary, Bellwood.
