Tap Out Ten; April 8, 2025

I always say, "I need to write more."

Well, here it goes.

Decent work day.  Nothing bad.  Grateful for what I'm doing in this season of my life right now, but I need to focus on the next step soon.

Got in my elliptical workout at lunch and was on the rower for half an hour before getting cleaned up to go to a high school baseball game at Porter High School, where the Spartans were hosting Splendora.

When I was walking towards the stands, I saw a poster of a photo of the son of friends of mine, the Barron family.

I sent a text or two to Waverly to make sure I had my facts straight.

I did, but I was going to be looking for Jamie and Johnifer.

Three innings went by and I had to put on the top and the running pants to negate the chill a little bit, but by the time the fourth inning came around I had to get up and walk some - to stay warm.

I had been sitting on the Splendora side, but figured I'd poke my head on the Porter side and when I did, Jaime saw me and came down to talk to me.

After we caught up for about 20 minutes, I walked up and saw his wife, Johnifer, her sister, Rona, and her husband, Damon.

We all attended the same church together for 20-plus years.  It was good to visit and catch up.

Porter won 9-1.  I stayed the whole game because I visited with them when I normally would leave after two hours.

Stopped and got a bite to eat, bypassing a late movie, and then came on home.

Looking towards the weekend already and I have an idea or two, but haven't landed on anything.

I really would like to do the Port Isabel Causeway 10K, but I think that may have to wait another year.  I can/could fly down to Harlingen, but I'm still trying to limit my travel expenditures as much as possible.

I was grateful to see some good, old friends this evening and was thankful for a good day.
