Daily Gratitude; July 4, 2021

3:00 p.m.

"I'd like you to challenge yourself to make a list every single day of at least five things that you're grateful for, but here's the catch.  They have to be things that have happened in the last twenty-four hours and they have to be the little things."

- Rachel Hollis, "Didn't See That Coming:  Putting Life Back Together When Your World Falls Apart"

My Five:

+ Thankful for great friends in the Bell family.  When my travel was delayed, they opened up their home for dinner and good discussion on Saturday night.  Then time was spent together on Sunday morning while racing The SHARK Run 5K in Orange Beach, Alabama.
+ Thankful for continued safe travels, especially on Sunday morning going back to Baton Rouge where I encountered no slowdowns as I was due at the Apple Store at 2:00 p.m.
+ Thankful for the great customer support from the staff at the Apple Store in Baton Rouge.  I made sure to mention this to somebody that appeared to be in charge before I left.
+ Thankful to be able to run and exercise and to travel to do so.
+ Thankful for the friends that I have and have maintained all over who enjoy engaging and interacting with me without issue.

My Five:

+ Thankful for forgiveness from Waverly.  (She was taking me to the airport to pick up a rental car and I snapped at her because I was angry earlier from something that I had read.  I asked her to forgive me and she was willing to do so and understood.)
+ Thankful for safe travels on Friday evening and through mid-day Saturday.
+ Thankful for having a good friend in the likes of a Jarrett LeBlanc, in that when I see him - and now his wife as he was recently married - there's always a good, healthy pleasant exchange.
+ Thankful for the desk clerk at the Hampton Inn in Lake Charles Friday night after mentioning that I had dropped my phone and didn't have a signal who said, "It'll get better."  (And she was right, it did.)
+ Thankful for the high five from the female employee at the Apple Store in Baton Rouge when she learned that I had made a full backup of my phone to my laptop using the iTunes app.

My Five:

+ Thankful for everything in life that I have and have been able to experience, good and bad.
+ Thankful for the ability to read and learn and grow from it.
+ Thankful for great, positive interactions with the wait staff, total strangers, at Cotton Patch Cafe last evening.
+ Thankful to be able to promote a young person achieving something, but in a place on social media that had recently been a source of strife for me.
+ Thankful for the note that I received this morning from godly counsel regarding my most recent source of strife, encouraging me to reveal how God can change up the surroundings that you're in.
